Students are enrolled in two classes of English each day, one dedicated to literary analysis and one to written expression.
Through the English curriculum, students learn to think and respond critically, creatively, and purposefully to literature and, with a strong emphasis on vocabulary development and writing skills, they are prepared to meet the demands of college level courses and a competitive work environment. Eight (8) English credits (two each year) are required for graduation.
  • English 9 — Ancient World Literature
  • English 10 — Modern World Literature
  • English 11 — American Literature
  • English 12 — British Literature
In addition to their two (2) required English classes, students may choose to enroll in English electives such as Creative Writing and Journalism.
