Celebrating Athletic Achievement in a Spectacular Event
If you are familiar with Jemicy’s philosophy, you know that we are exceptionally good at celebrating our students’ successes, and a shining example is our year-end Sports Awards Program at the Upper School. Recognizing the star performers (both on and off the field) is done right at a spectacular evening event, complete with a delicious dinner, bright lights, and moving speeches. This year’s event highlighted all that is special about the Jemicy spirit. A special congratulations to Female Athlete of the Year Madison Rubin and Male Athlete of the Year Kai Hines!
Under the direction of Athletic Director Graeme Millar, the program is growing in competitiveness while still having a place for all experience levels to play. Highlights of 2024-25 included continued success for cross country and golf, and the reemergence of our Men’s Lacrosse after a four-year hiatus! Additionally, seven of our interscholastic athletes were named to the All-Conference Team– an especially rewarding honor since it is voted on by coaches of opposing teams.
Thank you to all the coaches, parents, and most of all, the student athletes—many of whom play multiple sports so that we can field quality teams. In and out of the classroom—Jemicy students know they may have to work a bit harder, but that makes the win all the sweeter! Congratulations to all!
