BUSINESS OFFICE ASSOCIATE
Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright college-bound students (grades 1-12) with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences, is currently seeking an experienced, full-time business office associate for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage student and relationship profiles in the school’s Tuition Management Systems.
- Work closely with the Enrollment Management Department & prepare annual enrollment contracts
- Monitor collections and report delinquencies to the CFO
- Work closely with parents and handle any student billing inquiries
- Prepare purchase orders for all school orders
- Check in all deliveries, distribute to the requestor, and arrange for the return of incorrect items.
- Work with Accounts Payable Department to match invoices to POs.
- Prepare monthly PO report of outstanding purchases
- Digitize & maintain all files for the above duties as noted in the school’s retention policy
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, accounting or finance preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge Fund Accounting
- Able to communicate and work well with co-workers and vendors
- Professional, detail-oriented, able to analyze data and circumstances

LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL ART TEACHER
Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright college-bound students with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences, is seeking a full-time Lower and Middle School (grades 1-8) visual arts teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for creating and implementing student-centered educational art experiences that inspire children who have a broad range of learning styles. The visual arts teacher should have the ability to instruct students using a wide variety of artistic media (2D/3D), including digital arts, in order to develop students’ creative confidence, artistic curiosity, and technical ability. A bachelor’s/master’s degree in art education is required.

Responsibilities will include:
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Visual and Performing Arts Departments as well as all other school departments
- Using professional growth opportunities to further develop as a visual arts educator

Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright, college-bound students (grades 1 - 12) with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences, is seeking a full-time upper school digital arts educator for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants should be creative thinkers with graphic design experience, computer-aided animation skills, and a contagious passion for design thinking. We are seeking individuals who can develop a good rapport with students that have a variety of learning styles and who can prepare them for the current professional world. Professional experience in graphic design, animation, and developing curricula are highly valued for this position. Familiarity with 3DStudio MAX, Blender, Rhino, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required. Additionally, regular written reports and parent communications require writing skills. Responsibilities include leading a team of students to publish the school yearbook. Bachelor’s degree required.

KIT AIRPLANE BUILD LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright college-bound students (grades 1-12) with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences is currently seeking a lead instructor for its Kit Airplane Build Program. The role of lead instructor offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a team of highly motivated, upper school students to construct an actual BushCat kit airplane.

This part-time position, Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., involves directing hands-on, structured build sessions at Essex Skypark, in Essex, MD. These sessions focus on developing transferable skills, material science knowledge, aviation-specific fabrication techniques, and more. From safety wiring to soldering; assembling brake systems; and understanding the strength of materials, flammability, etc., students acquire experience and skills that translate to areas outside of aviation.

The lead instructor’s responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead and supervise students in the construction of a kit airplane.
- Develop and execute lesson plans aligned with program objectives; follow up during the week.
- Assist students comprehensively following the build manual and instructional videos provided with the airplane kit.
- Work closely with a Jemicy teacher weekly for additional support and coordination.
- Provide expert guidance and support to students in aviation mechanics and construction.
- Maintain records/notes of session progress and didactic topics covered during the program.
- Collaborate effectively with volunteers and mentors to ensure a smooth and enriching learning experience.
- Access additional building support from the US importer of the airplane kit, as necessary.
- Utilize the dedicated hanger and instructional resources available for the kit airplane build.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in aviation, mechanics, and construction; demonstrate a willingness and enthusiasm for working with students; and exhibit strong organizational and communication skills. Previous teaching or instructional experience is advantageous. Familiarity with dyslexia and language-based learning differences is beneficial but not mandatory.
