We were thrilled to welcome Jemicy students back to both campuses on August 31, 2020 for the 1st day of the 2020-2201 school year!
As we move into the 2020 - 2021 school year, we have worked tirelessly to plan for multiple learning environments — physical in-school, online virtual, and hybrid. We feel we are prepared for any eventuality; however, a sustained, physical return to school is much preferred, as most people realize the educational, social, and emotional benefits of in-person learning.
Jemicy’s plan for reopening our campuses is informed by recommendations provided by the CDC, MSDE, AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), and Harvard School of Public Health). Working within those guidelines, our “re-entry team,” (administration, a Hopkins’ epidemiologist, an ER doctor, and nurses) developed a “layered” defense protocol because we understand that no single control strategy alone can limit the transmission of COVID-19.
On 9/16/20, Head of School Ben Shifrin spoke on WBAL’s C4 and Brian Nehman Show about Jemicy‘s school reopening and the importance of all children returning to school for in-person learning. Click HERE and scroll to the 9/16/20 show to access the podcast (Ben’s segment begins at minute 47).
