Participants Will:

Learn and understand the neural basis of reading development
Explore all components of the acquisition of literacy, including oral language development, phonology (phonological & phonemic awareness, phonics), word recognition, spelling, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension
Understand the fundamentals of an Orton-Gillingham (OG) based lesson and the components of multisensory structured literacy instruction
Participate in a dyslexia simulation
Understand the early warning signs often displayed by students with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences
Make useful hands-on materials and games to enhance instruction for all students
