Skills INSTRUCTION
Camp Jemicy offers daily skills instruction that addresses each child’s learning style and specific academic needs through a structured, sequential program using creative, multisensory, research-based techniques.
Staff – The majority of our tutors are Jemicy teachers, skilled and trained in various multisensory reading programs approved by the International Dyslexia Association. In addition, Jemicy employs mature, creative camp counselors, many of whom are Jemicy alumni, to work with the campers during recreational activities.
Camp Jemicy helps students reinforce and maintain the skills learned throughout the year, providing a remedy for the problem of “summer learning loss.” Your child will be able to hit the ground running in the fall.

Mix a bit of abracadabra and hocus-pocus with a lot of instruction, imagination and creativity and you get magic…the Camp Jemicy way. Again, this summer, Camp Jemicy Viking campers were challenged by the wizard of Upper School photography, teacher Leslie Furlong, to create a “MAGICAL” stop motion, animation movie (using the iPad app iMotion) during their arts class project.
