Middle school students participate in arts classes, including visual and performing arts, four to five times per week, depending on grade level. Through the arts, many skills and concepts taught in other disciplines, including counting, symmetry, memorization strategies, sequencing, planning, and cognitive flexibility, are supported and reinforced.

DANCE
The dance curriculum provides the opportunity for students to enjoy motion through dance in a relaxed, creative, and encouraging environment. Competitions and performances beyond the Jemicy community are options available to students as members of the Dance Team.

MUSIC
Integrating music into the curriculum stimulates the imagination and enhances the study of other disciplines. The music program is designed to be aesthetically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually enriching for our students.

THEATRE
The Jemicy School produces a middle school musical each year. All students are involved in the production in some capacity. All who wish to be onstage are given that opportunity. Technical positions are available for those interested in backstage engineering, including set design, lighting, and sound.

VISUAL
The visual arts class explores the creative processes through two and three-dimensional art theory and concepts. Students paint, draw, sculpt, and study various artists to learn about their influence and style.
