About Language-Based Learning Differences

Movement and Learning Research
Since 2006, Jemicy Professional Outreach has participated in a research project to determine if elite physical programs such as Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and yoga, and computerized bio-feedback technology like Interactive Metronome and SmartBrain can improve reading fluency in children with language-based learning differences. A three-year study is funded by a generous grant from the Frances Goelet Charitable Trust.
Currently we have two faculty trained in Functional Movement Screening, six in the use of Interactive Metronome, and five others in SmartBrain. Upon completion of the study in 2009, Jemicy will analyze the results and enhance the educational program as appropriate.
