Camp Jemicy, a co-ed day camp for elementary age students (ages 6 – 11), is run by the Jemicy School, a leader in the field of dyslexic education. The camp combines intensive educational remediation and tutoring with traditional camp activities to assist bright, capable children who struggle with reading, writing, spelling and/or math.

Program
Mornings
Students participate in an academic program that includes
ο Language skills tutoring
ο Math class
ο Structured, supervised study hall
ο Study of a thematic unit
Afternoons
Students participate in a variety of traditional camp activities.
Academics
Five days each week, children receive language tutoring based on the
tenets of Orton-Gillingham. Each student's program is created to
complement his learning style and address his academic needs.
Activities
Camp activities enhance skills and build self-confidence. Campers
may explore a stream's ecosystems, grow a garden, engage in
cooperative games, or take swimming lessons at a local swim club.

Jemicy takes great care to select mature and imaginative men and
women who enjoy working with young people. Tutors are trained in the
Orton-Gillingham approach and the Wilson Language Program.
